5 Screen Room Upgrades That Make Fall Even Better in Texas

Fall in Texas is a season of subtle shifts—cooler evenings, football weekends, and the perfect excuse to enjoy your screen room without the summer heat. Whether you're in Houston, Cypress, Conroe or The Woodlands, these five upgrades will turn your patio screen enclosure in Houston  into a functional retreat that celebrates everything we love about autumn.

1. 🌀 Add a Ceiling Fan with a Reverse Setting

Texas fall isn’t always chilly, but when it is, a ceiling fan with a reverse setting helps circulate warm air downward. Choose a fan with rustic blades or bronze finishes to complement seasonal decor.

2. 📺 Mount a Weatherproof TV for Game Days

Football season is sacred in Texas. Mounting a weatherproof TV in your screen room lets you host watch parties without missing a play. Bonus points for adding surround sound or a Bluetooth speaker setup.

3. 🪑 Upgrade to Plush, Weather-Resistant Seating

Swap out summer furniture for cushioned seating with warm-toned fabrics. Think deep reds, burnt oranges, and cozy throw blankets. Wicker or powder-coated frames hold up well in fluctuating fall temps.

4. 🎃 Decorate with Fall Accents and Lighting

Lanterns, string lights, and seasonal touches like pumpkins or mums add warmth and charm. Solar-powered lighting keeps things efficient while enhancing ambiance after sunset.

5. 🛡️ Install Retractable Vinyl Panels or Shades

Texas weather can be unpredictable. Retractable panels or roll-down shades offer protection from wind and rain while keeping your view unobstructed. They're perfect for extending screened in patio use into late fall.

Whether you're still deciding between a screen room vs. a patio enclosure, these upgrades make your Houston screen room the ultimate fall hangout. Want help designing yours? Lone Star Patio Patio Builders is ready to bring your vision to life so get a free quote today.
